Custom Mattress Sizing for Any Situation
Delarkin takes great pride in producing the highest quality custom-size mattresses for campers, RVs, boats, or whatever other needs you could think of. Sometimes, though, you might need something custom-made to specific dimensions when it doesn’t make sense to pay a premium price. Maybe you have a camper that needs a mattress so you can sell it. It wouldn’t make sense to pay a premium price for a mattress you’re not going to sleep on. Maybe this particular bed will be used infrequently or by children who really just don’t care how great the mattress feels. Maybe you have more of a daybed that only needs to be comfortable to sit on for short periods. If you need a custom-built fit with rounded or chamfered corners, an odd size, or an odd shape, that doesn’t mean you should pay for custom and premium when all you need is custom.
We have a specially designed product for this type of customer. For this, we offer a thinner mattress made of traditional polyurethane foam without the memory foam layers built to a thickness of 4 inches (although we can build to any thickness you need). This can give a precision fit for an area where all you need is a pad to fill the space. It can be built to whatever specifications you may need, including notched, chamfered, or rounded corners or just a custom length and width. Measurements
In order to achieve the premium fit we are going for, we will need accurate measurements of all dimensions and angles. If you are in the Columbia SC area, we will be happy to come measure everything for you. If not, we have several solutions for that. In some cases, it would be best for you to ship an existing mattress for us to copy (if you have one). If that is not feasible or if there is no mattress in the space already, many customers either make us a diagram or cut a stencil. We have had people cut stencils from things they had available like cardboard or wrapping paper. In other cases, we have sent stiff fabric from which a stencil easily can be cut.
We are committed to providing our customers with mattresses that aren’t just comfortable but are safe. While we remain compliant with current fire-retardant material standards, we understand that these materials contain chemicals that could negatively impact the health of our customers. For this reason, we also offer custom mattresses without the added fire-retardant material as long as a note is provided from your doctor. Pricing
Pricing is calculated by taking the next standard size up and charging for custom cuts and angles. For example, if the mattress we were building is slightly narrower and shorter than a queen with a notched corner, we charge for a queen size plus a charge to adjust the length and the width, along with a charge for the custom corner. Whether shipping charges apply is determined on a case-by-case basis. If shipping fees do apply, they will be quoted exactly as they are received from a freight broker plus a small charge for packaging materials.
It is not uncommon for someone to need a custom size or shape mattress but not want to pay for a super premium product. We are here to provide a premium custom fit for any application.
These custom-size products typically have a two to four-week lead time.
